Robotic CNC Station

Based on IRB 6400 industrial robot, with a
high power, high speed, water chilled milling spindle. It’s purpose is to produce rapid
prototyping 3D cutouts possible to do in most materials (metals, plastics, wood, foam, ceramics).
FDM 3D-printer

The part is digitally manufactured by use of ”fused deposition modelling” technology, in a few hours or days, instead of weeks, as injection molded parts usually need.
Metal castings

With the Powder Inkjet 3D-printer it is possible to manufacture prototype components in metals quickly. In this picture the sand casting mold (top) is printed and cured in a high temperature furnace. Metal is smelted and poured into the mold, which is then demolished, and the part (bottom) is cleaned. The metal part is compensated for the shrinking during cooling, so it has the same measurements as a FDM part in ABS plastic (center).
Simulations

By adding a physics simulation to the design it becomes possible to do corrections and optimizations at an early stage, reducing costs and increasing performance and other benefits. The example above was a biofuel boiler that was optimized for increased efficiency and to enable certification approval through CFD-simulations. A new patent on a lightweight hydraulic vessel was also developed within the project, using advanced FEM analysis, where a decrease in material weight was enabled, and the entire boiler can be produced without 3D steel sheet formning (simple 2D shaping is enough, reducing manufacturing costs).
Design

Our designers use the methology of ”eco-design” where exterior design are combined with eco friendly materials. Design targets are developed in conjunction with market studies. |
